Yesterday, we kicked off the CyberStart Program Opening Session with an incredible lineup of speakers, mentors, and cybersecurity professionals from across Europe and beyond. From career stories to program deep-dives – the energy was electric. \u26a1<\/p>\n

\ud83d\udcca 1,106 people applied to be part of CyberStart. 507 made it through, representing 50 nationalities from 42 countries. Yesterday, they all came together for the very first time.<\/p>\n

The session opened with words from Alise Gurenko<\/a><\/strong> (Riga TechGirls), Mat\u012bss Andersons<\/a><\/strong> (Visas Iesp\u0113jas<\/a><\/strong>) and Veli Elyak(ProxyLab ry<\/a><\/strong>), followed by practicalities from Anna Filipenoka<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\ud83d\udcac We were inspired by welcome words from Anna Andersone<\/a><\/strong> (Riga TechGirls), Ieva Ilves<\/a><\/strong> (Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine \ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\udde6), Agnese Zalkovska YADI<\/a><\/strong> (W4C Latvia) and Janika Kajander<\/a><\/strong> (W4CFI).<\/p>\n

\ud83c\udf1f Career stories from Jana Orlova<\/a><\/strong> (Latvian Safer Internet Centre) and Maria Talvela<\/a><\/strong> (CSC – IT Center for Science) reminded us why this work matters.
\ud83d\udcda And Ismayil Hasanov (TurkuSec) closed the session with a compelling overview of what’s ahead in the program.<\/p>\n

The cybersecurity training programme “CyberStart” has been developed through an international partnership with the support of the European Territorial Cooperation Programme Interreg Central Baltic Programme<\/a><\/strong>, bringing together the experience of Latvian organisations Riga TechGirls and Visas Iesp\u0113jas, along with the Finnish partner ProxyLab.<\/p>\n
